Assistant Treasurers: Routine to semi-complex clerical and administrative support work for Treasurer’s office, with principal responsibility for processing payroll for Town and School employees; related work required. AFSCME Clerical Union, Grade 5. See Document Below:
Assistant Town Accountant under the general direction of the Town Accountant, is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for the Town and ensuring the information is properly imprinted for reporting purposes. Reviews and verifies payroll documentation prior to submittal. Assumes the responsibilities of the Town Accountant in their absence. Related work as required. Community Preservation Administrative Assistant- Part Time. Part time position under the direction of the CPC. Works from home approximately 10 hours per month with the exception of attending monthly CPC meetings. This position is paid a stipend of $225/meeting. Full job description below in Documents.
Town Planner- The Town of Rockland is excited to seek an experienced Town Planner who is responsible for performing professional and administrative work for the town’s Planning Department, including the town’s Planning and Zoning Boards. Work involves implementation of comprehensive plans; assessing proposals for land use and development; determining compliance with Zoning Ordinances, and applicable state and federal laws; attending Planning & Zoning Board meetings in an advisory capacity; assisting with long range planning projects; acquiring and administering grants; and recommending policies, standards or criteria, zoning bylaw changes. Recreation Department: The Director of the Explorers Summer Program, under the direction of the Recreation Director, will oversee most aspects of staffing, programming, and relations for the summer season. See Document Below:
Sewer Department: The Town of Rockland is seeking experienced and motivated applicants for the Sewer Superintendent position which is under the direction of the Town Elected Board of Sewer Commissioners. The Superintendent is responsible for the planning, budgets, organization, direction, management of the operations and activities for the Towns’ 2.5 MGD, Grade 7 treatment plant, collection and storage system. The sewer plant is managed by Veolia. This position will ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state mandates and regulations as well as exercise direct authority over all plant staff, including outside contractors in accordance with all Town policies and procedures. Recreation Dept:
Recreation Program Leader- 2 positions (12pm-4pm; 4pm-9:30pm) is responsible for the organization and direction of a variety of recreation activities. Responsibilities include conducting activities with groups of all ages, in varying programs and in different indoor/outdoor facilities. In addition, this position will be responsible for setting up and keep records all equipment use and ensure that recreation facilities and equipment are used and maintained properly. This position will work with the Director assisting in the development of diverse year-round programing.
Part time working up to 19 hours per week with an hourly wage of $20.00 and will require flexibility Monday through Sunday. We are looking to fill two (2) positions between the hours of 12:00p.m-4:00p.m and 4:00pm–9:30pm or as needed for scheduled programs and events. Program Instructor- Do you have a skill or hobby you would like to share with others? Rockland Recreation is seeking Program Instructors to lead leisure activities for groups of students, of all ages, at various times and varying days of the week. This position requires considerable experience in a specialized skill area or hobby with experience in teaching and leading others in learning the skill or specialty area. Program Instructors are responsible for the overall leading and teaching of the skill to registered customers. Programs could take place at various locations in the Town including, parks and the community center. Pay scale is based on qualifications and ranging from $19.00-$23.00/hour. Rockland Recreation is actively seeking a Lifeguard, preferably with at least one year of experience, for their summer program at Hartsuff Park. The Lifeguard provides supervision and ensures a safe environment for all the waterfront activities as well as assists in the management of the physical operation of the waterfront facilities and equipment. Seasonal Summer Employment: 25-35 hours per week; Hourly Rate: $17.00-$19.00/hour/ DOQ; Special Requirements: Must have Lifeguard Certification. Teen Center- The Rockland Teen Center is looking for energetic, responsible, and a reliable staff member to monitor teen activity, interact with teens, facilitate games and activities as well as attend Teen Center events. The purpose of this position is to perform supervisory duties for Rockland Teen Center’s events/activities. This individual will help to set up/breakdown events, supervise (with others) upwards of 60-115 teens per night, work concessions and will perform other duties as needed to assure night/events run safely.
